Bearnes Community School Flat and Pitched Roof Project

Case Study

Bearnes Community School Flat and Pitched Roof Project

Summary

The Link MAT has 17 schools across its central Devon estate and must prioritise which school buildings will receive the requisite financial support for their Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bids.

Warneford Consulting undertook a series of surveys and identified a short list of suitable submissions.

The trust worked closely with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure the bids were robust.

Bearnes Community School’s roof was in dire need of attention, so this was deemed a priority.

Work Undertaken

Once successfully awarded the same level of collaboration was applied to ensure immediate mobilisation and early commencement of the works on the roof.

Most of the works were undertaken during the summer holiday and completed during the October half term ensuring minimum disruption to the school.

Results

Bearnes Community School has a new flat and pitched roof that meets the ESFA output requirements and now provides safe, warm, and dry teaching and learning conditions for present and future generations.

Warneford Consulting have now secured four Condition Improvement Fund awards for the trust including roofing and fire safety works.

Tim has secured a number of awards for our schools across the trust and we are very grateful for his endeavours. The supply chain have delivered a quality installation, on time and within budget.Matt Mathew, Deputy CEO
