Carbon Literacy Certification at Warneford Consulting
At Warneford Consulting, sustainability is not a bolt-on. It underpins how we think, advise, and operate across all areas of our work.
We are pleased to share that both Tim and James have achieved Carbon Literacy certification, formally recognising the practical carbon and climate knowledge that has informed their work for many years. This certification reinforces our commitment to embedding sustainability into the advice and services we provide to our clients.
What is Carbon Literacy?
Carbon Literacy training provides a clear understanding of the science behind climate change, the primary sources of carbon emissions, and, crucially, the actions organisations can take to reduce their environmental impact in meaningful and measurable ways. It balances the wider global context with practical, day-to-day decision-making, ensuring that knowledge translates into action.
What This Means for Our Clients
For Warneford Consulting, Carbon Literacy strengthens the way we support clients in the education sector. Schools and trusts face unique operational, financial, and regulatory pressures, and carbon reduction strategies must be realistic, affordable, and aligned with educational outcomes.
Our training helps ensure that our advice on estates strategy, energy efficiency, capital investment, and funding is grounded in best practice and supported by clear evidence. This allows us to help schools make informed decisions that deliver both environmental and operational benefits.
Looking Ahead
Our commitment to sustainability is ongoing. We are currently working towards becoming a Carbon Literate Organisation and achieving ISO 14001 certification in 2026. These steps reflect our ambition to continually improve our own environmental performance, while supporting schools and trusts to navigate their carbon reduction journeys with confidence and clarity.
