The New Procurement Act and Its Impact on the Education Sector
Education Estates Conference, Manchester – 14 October, 12:00–13:00
I’m looking forward to chairing an important session at this year’s Education Estates Conference in Manchester, where I’ll be leading a discussion on The New Procurement Act and Its Impact on the Education Sector.
Since February 2025, the Procurement Act has reshaped the way public sector contracts are managed – and for schools and trusts, the implications are significant. This isn’t just about compliance; it’s about reshaping procurement as a driver of long-term value and resilience across the education estate.
I’ll be joined by two fantastic speakers from Capital Law:
- Emma Wiltshire, Legal Director (Construction)
- Nicola Cullen, Associate (Public Law and Regulatory)
Together, we’ll explore what the Act means for education, drawing on both legal and sector-specific perspectives.
As part of the session, I’ll be hosting a SWOT analysis workshop to examine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats the Act presents for schools and trusts. This is a chance to take a practical, hands-on look at how the legislation can influence strategy, funding, and delivery.
And because no conference should be entirely without fun, we’ll also be playing a lively round of Procurement Bingo – with a bottle of champagne waiting for the winner!
This promises to be an interactive and insightful session, combining critical thinking with practical takeaways. If you’re attending the conference, I’d strongly encourage you to book a place, join the discussion, and share your perspective.
Date: Tuesday 14 October 2025
Time: 12:00 – 13:00
Location: Education Estates Conference, Manchester
I hope to see many of you there.
