Warneford Consulting is proud to have achieved Silver Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) status, recognising our commitment to embedding carbon awareness and climate responsibility into the way we operate and support our clients.
Carbon Literacy provides individuals and organisations with an understanding of climate change, the sources of emissions, and the practical actions needed to reduce carbon impact. As a specialist consultancy working with schools and colleges on estate strategy, energy efficiency and decarbonisation, becoming Carbon Literate was a natural progression for our business.
Both Tim and James completed certified Carbon Literacy training in November 2025, meaning 100% of the organisation is now Carbon Literate. Since then, we have integrated carbon considerations more formally into our governance, project delivery and advisory services. This includes linking our recommendations to measurable carbon outcomes, embedding sustainability within procurement advice, and encouraging supply chain partners and schools to consider Carbon Literacy as part of their own decarbonisation journeys.
Alongside this, we continue to measure and reduce our own environmental impact through our Corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory, which has already demonstrated reductions in emissions intensity despite business growth.
Achieving Silver CLO status reflects more than training alone, it demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement, advocacy and leadership within the education sector. As schools and colleges respond to increasing expectations around sustainability, climate resilience and estate decarbonisation, we believe advisers should lead by example.
Our next steps include expanding Carbon Literacy advocacy across the education sector, strengthening carbon impact reporting at project level, and working towards ISO 14001 certification in 2026 as part of our ongoing commitment to responsible and sustainable practice.
