Tim Warneford to speak at Westminster Education Forum on the future of school and college buildings
Tim Warneford will be speaking at the Westminster Education Forum‘s online event, ‘Next steps for school and college buildings,’ on 1st October.
The event brings together keynote speakers from the Department for Education, including Jane Balderstone and Emma Hockley, with Paul Broadbent chairing the Net Zero, Sustainability and Resilience session in which Tim will present.
Tim’s session will look at the funding reality schools and colleges are facing: grant funding streams that are finite and increasingly stretched, and a fast-growing market of financial vehicles, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Managed Service Leases (MSLs) stepping in to fill the gap.
He’ll make the case for greater clarity around these newer funding routes, and for a loosening of the restrictions currently built into the Academy Trust Handbook, which he argues are holding schools back from accessing the tools they need to invest in their buildings.
