Warneford Consulting and Green Net Zero have committed to work in a collaborative partnership in order to provide academy schools an exemplary service throughout their journey towards decarbonising their estate.

Warneford Consulting MD, Tim Warneford says “In conversation with clients and again, reinforced at recent conferences, it has become clear that many schools are unclear about how best to invest their Energy Efficiency grant and moreover, where to begin their journey towards achieving aspirational net zero targets.

Whilst those large MATs will as a matter of requirement, be undertaking Streamlined Energy Carbon Reports (SECR), and others, have commissioned energy audits as part of a Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) application.

Tim observed there was a dearth of options available for those schools who wanted to better understand the existing performance of their building’s fabric and in a period of increasing gas and electricity costs, what their return on investment was for appropriate renewable energy installations.

Green Net Zero are an environmental consultancy with over 50 years’ experience in the built environment. Their core focus is supporting their clients with the decarbonisation of their buildings, through better behaviour and the implementation low carbon, energy efficient technologies.

Green Net Zero’s Director, James Smurthwaite says “We’re extremely excited to be collaborating with Warneford Consulting to deliver much needed support to schools in the UK. Decarbonisation can be a daunting prospect for many, and these audits give us the chance to set schools off on their journey with a clear plan of where they’re going, how they’re going to get there, and what the destination will look like.”

Tim continued “working with experienced and passionately committed partners such as Green Net Zero, we are delighted to have been instructed to undertake a series of Stage 1 Decarbonisation Energy Audits across a number of MATs and we are very much looking forward to discussing this offer and others with delegates at the forthcoming Education Estates Net Zero Conference, held at the LSE on April 20th.”
