Flying high; A pilot project with the Collegiate Academy Trust

This session will cover:

• Understanding the condition and compliance of built assets within the school estate is an increasing essential element of every business plan – allowing schools to gain a handle on future liabilities and plan for future maintenance requirements.
• Asset management services available to schools tend to fall into one of two camps; a detailed survey which is invariably resource intensive and costly or a light-touch survey which, although affordable, fails to capture sufficient data with which to provide the required analysis.
• Seeing a gap in the market, I approached the Collegiate Academy Trust, and we worked together to design a lean asset management service that allows multi-academy trusts to centrally manage multiple assets and develop lifecycle strategies across their entire portfolioat an affordable price.
• The presentation explains how we worked together to develop and refine our service, what the data told us about the Trust’s estate, how they will use the analysis to refine their asset strategy and investment plan and the lessons we learnt from the process.
