About Tim Warneford, our Managing Director
With degrees in both social sciences and building surveying, I understand the link between learning outcomes, health and wellbeing of students and the quality of the teaching environment. As a governor at a local STEM college, I’ve direct insight into the multiple challenges that trusts face.
I’ve worked in both social housing and renewable energy sectors during my earlier career, both of which relied on state funded investment with plans driven from detailed analysis of stock condition. Now, working within the education sector, I’m keen to help school leaders capture and analyse their school condition data to secure funding, ensure safe and compliant educational facilities and optimise their assets for the benefit of current and future pupils. I form collaborative relationships with my clients working with them to best understand how their estate can be managed to support their education development plan.

I’m currently hosting a series of podcasts: ‘Developing the trust; Joining the dots’. These explore how professional services across the academy sector can better collaborate to provide trusts with an enhanced service, improving their awareness of both challenges and opportunities that exist as an independent business.
I’m also a regular presenter at Schools and Academies Show, Education Estates Conference, ISBL National Conference (With Lloyds Bank’s Phil Herriott) MAT Expo on a range of funding subjects and, in particular, on ‘Why CIF bids fail’.
